Nuclear Power and Your Health

Hello Green Voters,

We wanted to be certain you were aware of an excellent opportunity to learn more about the impacts nuclear power has on your health. VLCV is cosponsoring a speaking tour featuring Dr. Winfrid Eisenberg.

Is Nuclear Power Dangerous to Your Health?

To answer this question Winfrid Eisenberg M.D., a retired pediatrician from Herford, Germany, will be speaking throughout Vermont from February 16 to March 3. He will tell Vermonters about cancer rates among children growing up near nuclear power plants in Germany.

Dr. Eisenberg also has something to say to those who do not live near nuclear power plants. He is an authority on the health consequences of the 1986 Chernobyl disaster, and how it affected children in Germany, 900 miles from the site of the accident. He has examined and treated children from both Germany and Belarus who either survived the Chernobyl nuclear accident or whose parents were survivors.

To read more about Dr. Winfrid Eisenburg please go to the Vermont Yankee Decommissioning Alliance's website.
