Welcome! The Vermont League of Conservation Voters (VLCV) serves as the non-partisan political voice of the state’s environmental community. VLCV seeks to make environmental protection a top priority for elected officials, candidates and voters.
VLCV works throughout the year to:
- advocate for sound environmental and conservation policies
- elect environmentally friendly candidates to public office
- hold elected officials accountable for the decisions they make affecting our air, water, open space and quality of life in Vermont
How Do They Rate? Check the Legislative Scorecard
With such a close eye on the work being done in the State House, VLCV is uniquely positioned to grade legislators on how they are performing, which we document every two years in our Environmental Scorecard.
The Scorecard helps inform Vermont voters on which candidates to support and it helps VLCV determine which candidates we will work to remove from office and which candidates we will endorse and support to return to the legislature because they have proven that they share your vision for Vermont’s future.

Elections and Pro-Environment Candidates
The only way Vermonters can reasonably expect to achieve the environmental and conservation goals they envision is by electing politicians who share their goal. The Vermont League of Conservation Voters is the only environmental organization that works directly in the election in support of pro-environment candidates from the Vermont House and Senate all the way up to the Governor.

Environmental Issues
VLCV works side-by-side with your elected officials to help pass legislation that will achieve a renewable energy future that includes wind, solar, bio-mass, and hydro while simultaneously addressing the climate change crisis, protecting our working landscapes from sprawl so we can continue to have abundant agricultural land and forests to log, hunt and hike, as well as ensuring that Vermonters have clean water to fish in and drink from for generations to come.
